Thanks for the
photos - had no idea that my grandfather was that involved... Shirley
(Frumer) Abelsohn, San Diego Good job guys -
sounds like it was wonderful...are you planning on doing it annually? Shirley
(Frumer) Abelsohn, San Diego Thank you for such a special evening. Just gone on to the website. Quite nostalgic now that it's over. Can't wait to see the updated photos and comments. Truly a great evening. Cecily
(Lazarus) Anagnostakis, Cape Town Just to let you know that you, together with Philip and Dave Stodel, did a wonderful job and I thank you sincerely for getting us all together. I do hope that we will have another reunion in five years time. I am pleased that the surplus funds went to Oranjia. Take care. Elka
(Back) Arelisky, Cape Town What a wonderful time those present must have had. Aron
Back, Toronto, Canada It sounds like such a wonderful event and your contribution was truly stellar. I so enjoyed the web site and look forward to the DVD one day. Wilma
(Barron) Bass, San Francisco Thank you for forwarding the report of the wonderful evening to me so promptly. Seems like I missed out....perhaps the next one? Sylvia
(Kramer) Berman, Pretoria Thanks for all the trouble you took to make the evening special! Janice
(Odes) Bloch, Cape Town Please reserve 2 copies VHS of what was truly a memorable evening, and one that I would love to have on tape as a memento thereof. I know you both have been thanked many times for undertaking the highly successful event, but one more time won't do any harm. Harry Buchinsky, Cape Town It will be a singular honour and pleasure for me to see that some of my comments are used amongst others to describe what was truly a memorable evening. Once again, Phillip, thanks to you and Harold for everything you did both prior and on the night of "Re-union". Harry
Buchinsky, Cape Town I have just finished reading the Maitland re-union website. To all of you that could not attend the re-union for whatever reason, I urge to log on to the website. It is superb and brought tears to my eyes. Harold
Cohen, Cape Town My brother Hymie told me all about your 50th reunion. So enjoyed the website and photographs and going down memory lane. To those who remember me, best regards. Frances (Waldman) Daus, Johannesburg I really enjoy checking up on the photos. It brings back so many good memories. Keep up the good work. Esta
(Back) Dekel, Israel Thanks for an enjoyable reunion. Old friendships were renewed and happy memories were relived. Please keep us on the mailing list. Warm wishes. Diana (Keschner) Henning, Cape Town I notice you have my e-mail address. I looked at the photo of the 1930 class and enlarged but could not find myself, then I realised that it was before I was born! Most of my friends are not in Cape Town any more, but I have no objection to anyone who wants to write to me. Incidentally, Bella Levin and I see each other regularly here in Toronto and spend hours discussing life as we knew it. You may not know but I subsequently went to Israel at the age of 18. I was very Zionistic at that stage and wanted to help the people who came out of the Camps in Europe. I lived on Timorim and a lot of my friends have since passed away - Alfie Seidel, Phillip Bloom, etc. Regards, your reunion was a great idea. Sheba (Klein) Israel, Toronto, Canada I am enjoying the Maitland re-union so much and all the photos. Ada (Waldman) Kaplan, Israel I just cannot thank you enough, I have just come home, and got in straight away. Once again thanks so much. Thank you so much for doing all this work, it is wonderful that you have taken such an interest. Thanks to all the people involved. I did not know anything about it, until Hymie and Shirley told me they had been. Ada (Waldman) Kaplan, Israel The website is absolutely amazing. All your hard work paid off. We are now looking forward to getting an update of the event. Liebe
(Kramer) Lagnado, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada The re-union was great, I am only sorry that there were not more people from our generation. I recognised some of the family names but not the faces as they are older than me. Jeanette
(Katzeff) Lewis, Cape Town Congratulations on organizing what is guaranteed to be a very successful re-union this evening. Please convey my best wishes to all present. Jeff
Margolis, London Thanks for the wonderful trip down memory lane. There must have been more photos of the occasion, as I didn't see all of those who were on your guest list. I look forward to seeing more of the old Maitlanders. I would love a DVD of the event. Ruth
(Horner) Mibashan, London Thank you for being a part organiser of the re-union. It was a lovely function and both Ivan and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to catch up with people after such a long time. Shirley
(Singer) Nurick, Cape Town I just want to add my thanks for a really great get together. You and the Stodel brothers did a very good job. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with so many people I hadn't seen for a long time. Shirley
(Singer) Nurick, Cape Town We were so sorry we could not be there for the Maitland Re-union. It sounds like it was really outstanding and very enjoyable. "Kol Hakavod" to you all, especially you Philip and Harold Cohen. The website is absolutely terrific and so interesting - I just finished reading it - really great work!!!!!!!!!!!! Ozzy
(Meyer) Ozinsky, Israel I was at last able to get into the Maitland "Affair" photos, and although many of the names/faces were not familiar to me (they were too young!), I was very happy to see many relatives, friends and acquaintances that I had completely lost touch with. And sorry to read names of some that I had known, who had passed away. Thanks again for all your hard work! Edie
(Kramer) Radomsky, Virginia Beach Heard the re-union was superb, I felt very nostalgic that I could not be part of it. Glad my brothers Harry and Julius were there to represent the Buchinskys. Many of the names are familiar to me, but could not recognise many of the “older” people, nor the ones that I had lost contact with. My congratulations to you on a “job” well done. Leah (Buchinsky) Sack, Toronto, Canada Sounds great. Will be thinking of all the ex-Maitlanders (as I understand there are none left). Enjoyed reading snippets from the people abroad, I'm sure that I will have an update from my brothers Harry and Julius. Have a le Chaim to the good old days (although at the time it did not seem so good). Congratulations on a great effort. Leah
(Buchinsky) Sack, Toronto, Canada I have already heard from some old friends and it’s been great. Maureen
(Barron) Sacks, Boston Thanks for forwarding the website to me. You did a great job and I wish you well for tonight’s event. I just love the photos of the Kramers, Stodels and what Liebe wrote about the family. Marcelle
(Frumer) Samakosky, San Diego Kol Hakovod to you guys on a great effort and successful project. Kind regards. Chalky
Samson, Irvine, California I have enjoyed the website so much and once again well done on an amazing achievement. Chalky
Samson, Irvine, California I would like to take this opportunity of congratulating you once again on an outstanding effort. The website is magnificent and a real class act. It was a great thrill reading the Museum articles of the history. Of course my grandfather, William Samson was a Life President of the Shul and my Grandmother Fanny, President of the Women's Benevolent and they were prominently mentioned. In Rev Kaufman's article he referred to my Grandpa as Zeev Shimshon. All a great thrill. I was happy I was able to participate by sending photos, etc. I have no objection to my e-mail address being displayed. All the best and thanks again for a wonderful experience. I am so sorry I was not able to be there. Chalky
Samson, Irvine, California Just received an e-mail from Bella (Shapiro) Levin who saw my e-mail address on your website and she wrote to say hi. Gus called again from Houston asking for the website which I gave to them and they pulled it up - you have created quite a thing and I think it is marvellous. Chalky
Samson, Irvine, California Mazeltov on your wonderful display. It was so exciting to receive and I think you did a marvellous job. Now look forward to the pictures of the actual gathering to see what everyone looks like!! Once again well done on your effort. I hope the re-union was a huge success and thanks for sharing all this with me and for publishing my photos. Chalky

It has been
wonderful to have had the pleasure of a reunion and as you say maybe in
another five years.... who knows. A
big thank you to Philip and David and yourself for all your hard work. Kindest regards. Joan
(Lazarus) Smith, Cape Town Thank you so
much for all the time and effort you made arranging our special evening. We even saw other family members whom we
hadn't seen for years. It was
wonderful and well organised. Once
again thanks for organising this wonderful event. Joan
(Lazarus) Smith, Cape Town By all accounts a great time was
had and congratulations to you and your team. I give you authorisation to publish my e-mail address and look
forward to hearing from others who live abroad. I was amused to see Esta Back now lives in Haifa where I lived
from 1968 - 1980 and have strong ties there.
I live in London now. Naomi
(Ozinsky) Stone, London I would appreciate your leaving my e-mail address on the list - it would be lovely to receive mail from friends from the past. I wrote at length to Bella Levin to tell her about the function and this was then passed on to Rose Peltz/Miller so I expect people are definitely keen to get feedback. Gus Ostrin saw the website whilst in Houston for his brother's consecration. May I add my appreciation to you and Harold for organising the function - it has given a lot of people lots of pleasure.
