March 2007
When
the Maitland Hebrew Congregational Trust was wound up in November 2004, the
remaining funds in the trust were distributed to fourteen
organizations, one of which was the Herzlia School Bursary fund.
During
2006/2007, as part of Herzlia's Renew-A-Classroom initiative, it was decided to
dedicate a classroom in the name of the Maitland Hebrew Congregation.
At
the dedication ceremony on 18 March 2007, a plaque in honor of the Maitland
Hebrew Congregation was unveiled at the entrance to the Music and Technology
room at Herzlia Highlands Primary School, and an attractive mezuzah was affixed
to the doorpost.
The
inscription on the plaque reads:
In honour of the
MAITLAND HEBREW CONGREGATION
"And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill,
ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts"
Exodus 35
